Indian OTT Viewers can discover a wide range of international shows and movies, both old and new, with Vrott, a platform that goes beyond the usual streaming services. Vrott features a diverse collection of American, European, and Asian content and is making its debut in India. The British mini-series, Too Close is preparing for its debut in India. Featuring Denise Gough, Thalissa Teixeira, and Emily Watson, this BAFTA-nominated show premiered in 2021.
The upcoming British thriller series will premiere on August 16, 2024, exclusively on Vrott. Too Close is adapted from the novel of the same name, published in 2018, authored by Clara Salaman using the pseudonym Natalie Daniels. This British mini-series consists of just three episodes, each running for an hour. The Series’s plot focuses on Dr. Emma Robertson, an esteemed and experienced psychiatrist, who is tasked with performing an extensive psychological assessment on Connie Mortensen, an affluent and apparently dedicated mother, who is facing allegations of a disturbing crime. As Dr. Emma immerses herself further into the investigation, she is required to maneuver through the complex network of Connie’s mental condition, delving into the hidden reasons and thoughts that could have led her to carry out such a dreadful act. Throughout this process, she constantly questions the genuine essence of guilt, innocence, and the complexities of the human mind. Dr. Emma’s proficiency is required to determine if Connie’s behavior was a deliberate decision or a manifestation of an underlying psychological problem.
The trailer opens with Dr. Emma discussing Connie’s unusual case with her husband. The eerie background music sets the tone. We then witness Emma’s visit to Connie’s home in the morning, where she introduces herself as a forensic psychiatrist. As the scene grows more suspicious, the trailer shifts to flashbacks of Connie’s life, showing her joyful moments with her daughter. Emma questions Connie about the events of that fateful night while also providing insight into grief. Tensions rise as Connie and Emma engage in heated exchanges. What truly happened to Connie?
