It is widely known that Stree 2 has emerged as not only this year’s biggest blockbuster for Bollywood, it is also on the way to become the first ever film from the industry to cross the 600 crore mark at the domestic box office. Amar Kaushik’s directorial stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, and it was released in theaters worldwide on August 15, 2024. Though it clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa, it showed superb dominance and went on to create massive records at the box office.
Even after completing a month at the theaters, the film is still minting respectable numbers at the box office. Meanwhile, the latest reports suggest that the film will arrive on OTT at the end of September, but with a twist. It is being said that the horror comedy will be available for streaming on Prime Video from September 27, 2024. However, the film will not be available for all the subscribers as it will premiere in rental mode. However, there is no official announcement on this, and we will have to wait for the confirmation from the makers or streaming platform.
Produced by Diesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande under Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Stree 2 also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi in supporting roles. The film also had exciting cameos in the form of Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar.
