The digital premiere of the Tamil film Siragan, featuring actor Gajaraj in the lead role, is scheduled to take place soon. As announced on social media on Saturday, Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium will be the platforms where the film can be accessed. The premiere of Siragan is set for June 18.
Siragan, a Tamil crime thriller released on April 20, 2024, received a lukewarm response from both critics and audiences. The film, directed and written by Venkateshwaraj, failed to generate much excitement, contributing to the ongoing dry spell in Tamil cinema. Gajaraj, known for his supporting roles in his son Karthik Subbaraj’s films, takes on the lead role in this movie. Alongside him, the cast includes ViJiva Ravi, Vinoth Gd, Ananth Nag, Fouize Hidhaya, Pooventhan, Malik, Balaji Venkatraman, Harshitha Ram, Sanu, and Ananth Venkkat, among others. Venkateshwaraj, the writer and director of the film, also took on the role of the film’s editor. Durka Patric serves as the producer. Setai Sikkender handles the cinematography, with Ram Ganesh assisting. K is responsible for scoring the music. Hari Prasad Paul is the art director. Starting from June 18, the film can be accessed on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium.
Siragan’s trailer showcases Gajaraj portraying the character of Kalidas, who is under investigation as a witness in a murder case. The movie appears to center around a murder mystery and the involvement of various characters in it. Gajaraj’s role provides the perspective through which the narrative unfolds. In the meantime, Aha Tamil has been expanding its Tamil content library by acquiring the post-theatrical streaming rights of several 2024 Tamil films, such as Kurangu Pedal, supported by Sivakarthikeyan, Hot Spot, Romeo starring Vijay Antony, Ranam Aram Thavarel, and Vadakkupatti Ramasamy, among others.
