When Rakshit Shetty’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B was scheduled for its theatrical release, like many movies nowadays, there were inquiries regarding its streaming platform and the estimated date it would be available online. During that time, Rakshit Shetty, the film’s lead actor and producer, clarified that he had not yet chosen an OTT partner and was still considering his options. This was even though Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A was already available on Amazon Prime Video. The film was eventually brought on the same OTT platform but went on an unexpected journey. You can read more to know about the unusual happenings of the SSE Side B OTT release.
Rakshit did not make the decision regarding the film, as it was actually made prior to the film’s production when Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah was set to produce it. Pushkara was unaware that Sapta Sagaradaache Ello would later become two films, leading him to sell the rights of one film to Amazon Prime Video. According to the agreement, Side A was acquired by the streaming platform, leaving Rakshit with the opportunity to sell Side B to another party. Rumors circulated that he was leaning towards Zee Network, which had secured the satellite rights. However, given that Side A was available on Prime Video, it was logical to release Side B on the same platform as well. Side B was added on January 25, but disappeared from the platform nearly 2 months later. By the end of March,it was reported that Side B was no longer on Prime Video, following observations from viewers that it had been removed. Questions regarding this situation went unanswered, leading to speculation that Rakshit may have decided to re-release his film and offer it to other streaming services.
It has been revealed that Prime Video has decided to extend its contract with the team and reintroduce Side B on its platform. The duration of this renewal is still being determined, as it may be part of a limited-time offer. Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, helmed by Hemanth M Rao, features a talented cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Chaithra J Achar, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Achyuth Kumar, Ramesh Indira, JP Thuminad, and more.
