OTT Streaming Reviews

While there is hardly any entertainment in theaters, OTT platforms have unveiled streaming for numerous films after concluding their theatrical releases. I happened to see a few films which I missed out on in theaters:

1. *Om Bheem Bush*

Surprised to see that there was a horror element in the film, which was not emphasized during its promotional campaign. While the first half of the film does not provide much, the Trio Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshan, and Rahul Ramakrishna try their hardest to entertain. The second half has its moments, especially when the Trio provides comedy in the horror backdrop, but the main plot falls apart, leaving me disappointed.

2. *Tantra*:

A film based on black magic scenes set against the backdrop of a village offers nothing but a hectic ride. Wondering why I started streaming it, I feel pity for those who experienced it theatrically. The director, with hardly a chance to impress us with a proper love story, delves into the unconventional concept of black magic, which needs an intriguing screenplay to engage. Despite dull scenes throughout, the main plot burst my mind after the revelation.

3. *Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya*:

This romcom film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon had its moments here and there. Felt like it was a decent watch and entertaining. Kriti Sanon, who plays a robot in the film, indulges in the love story with Shahid Kapoor, giving us funny moments, especially when she is introduced to his character’s family. While the concept is intriguing, a few illogical scenes might keep us in check, but when the entertainment takes over, you can find relief.

4. *Mission Chapter 1*:

Been late to the party, but regretted missing out on this film as I didn’t get a chance to stream it earlier. Had zero expectations, but it turned out to be one of the promising films. Starring Arun Vijay and Amy Jackson, it’s a story of a jailer that also provides a touch of father-daughter relation. The film starts off slowly but with promising twists, and the scenes under the backdrop of a United States jail are promising. Within the given budget, the director engaged us throughout. It’s a definite watch, waiting for Part 2.

*Available To Stream on Prime Video*

While not every film may hit the mark, the sheer variety and convenience offered by streaming services have undoubtedly reshaped the way we consume entertainment. With an ever-expanding library of releases, the journey from theatres to OTT platforms promises to be an exhilarating ride filled with surprises, disappointments, and hidden treasures waiting to be unearthed.

Note: It’s a personal opinion. It will not be based on it’s film run or the talk on the other side.
