TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu is in Rajamahendravaram central jail, serving the judicial remand period. He had been trying for the quash of the entire skill development case on one side and bail on the other side.
He tried the quash petition in the AP high court, which had dismissed it. He then challenged the high court’s dismissal petition in the supreme court through a special leave petition. The SLP is coming up for hearing today.
He had also field a bail petition in the ACB court in Vijayawada, which had dismissed it after hearing for two consecutive days. Later, he filed the bail petition in the AP high court. The high court is likely to hear the bail petition today.
While Chandrababu Naidu continues to fight the legal battle against his arrest, his son and party general secretary Nara Lokesh is leading the party outside the jail. But the big question is will he be able to handle the party and its leaders?
Lokesh is not able to give any programme for the party. The three programmes that were held after Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest were given by his mother Bhuvaneswari and his wife Brahmani and not a single programme was given by Lokesh.
The beating on the plates, candlelight protests were designed by his wife Nara Brahmani, while the handcuffs protest was designed by his mother. Lokesh is totally at a loss to understand what to do and how to lead the party.
Interestingly, he was not a leader, but was a son behind the powerful father for all these years. He never had any idea on how to lead the party or to give a programme for the party. He was always guided by his father both in the government and in the party.
Even the coordination committee to hold talks with the Jana Sena on alliance was created by his father sitting in jail. Lokesh had no idea on how to proceed further or have a common programme for both the TDP and Jana Sena in the fight against his father’s arrest or in the run for the 2024 general election.
It is a big question that Lokesh would be able to lead the party in the coming election, if Naidu continues to be in the jail.
