Velampalli dares Naidu, Pawan to contest alone

Former minister and YSR Congress MLA Velampalli Srinivasa Rao on Thursday dared TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to contest alone if they have confidence of winning the election. He said that the two leaders were speaking about defeating the YSR Congress in the coming general election. He said that if they are so confidence, why not they contest alone, he asked.

Velampalli said that they have no confidence of winning the election. That was the reason why they were going for alliance. He said that the two parties were having alliance as they have no confidence of winning the election.

The former minister said that Chandrababu Naidu had kept Lokesh aside as he knows that Lokesh could not do anything. Chandrababu Naidu was depending more on Pawan Kalyan than Lokesh, he said. He expressed confidence that the YSR Congress would also defeat Lokesh at Mangalagiri for the second term.

Referring to Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari speech in Kuppam the other day, Velampalli said that Bhuvaneswari had admitted that Chandrababu Nadiu required some rest. He said that people of the state would give him rest once for all. He sought to advise Bhuvaneswari to contest from Kuppam in stead of Chandrababu Naidu.

He further said that Bhuvaneswari was planning to keep Chandrababu Naidu aside and make Lokesh as the chief minister. She had planned this between 2014 and 2019. However, she could not do as Chandrababu Naidu opposed it. Finally, both of them have agreed to make Lokesh as a minister in Naidu’s cabinet, Velampalli said.

The former minister said that this time, if the TDP is voted to power, Lokesh would become the chief minister and not Chandrababu Naidu. Bhuvaneswari was planning to give rest to Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
