Naidu, Lokesh booked for false campaign

The AP CID had booked cases against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh for false campaign against the state government on Land Titling Act. The CID booked Chandrababu Naidu as A1 and Lokesh as A2 in the case following directions from the Election CommissionYSR Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu lodged a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh were leading a false and misleading campaign against the state government and the YSR Congress on Land Titling Act.

Malladi Vishnu alleged that both Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh were leading the false campaign to terrorise people on the land rights. He alleged that the two leaders and their team of workers were spreading false information about the Act and creating confusion among the voters.The allegation is that Naidu and Lokesh were scaring the people about the provisions of the Act, he alleged. The EC had directed the CID to investigate into the case and take necessary action. The CID started the investigation and found that both Naidu and Lokesh were responsible for the misleading campaign.

The CID registered case against Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, the iTDP and the Telugu Desam Party. The CID also went to the TDP office at Mangalagiri and issued notices to the office incharge. Cases were registered under IPC section 171 (F)(G), 188, 505(2), and 120 (B).The TDP is making telephone calls to the voters in Andhra Pradesh from Mangalagiri, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh and Hyderabad. They were terrorising the people about the Land Titling Act and asking people to vote against the YSR Congress.Malladi Vishnu submitted copies of the telephone calls from the TDP to the people and the newspaper clippings of the statements of Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh. The CID is likely to question Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh on the issue.
