Former minister and firebrand leader in the TDP, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, failed to find a place in the third list of the TDP which was released on Friday. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu denied the party ticket to Devineni Uma finally.
The Mylavaram assembly seat was given to sitting MLA Vasantha Venkata Krishna Prasad, who joined the party recently. He was elected on the YSR Congress ticket in the 2019 general election defeating Devineni Uma. Vasantha Krishna Prasad finally made it to the party list while Devineni Uma had to go home empty handed.
Devineni Uma had been the trusted loyalist of Chandrababu Naidu for all these years. He stood firmly behind Chandrababu Naidu during 2014 and 2019. Even after the defeat in the 2019 general election, Devineni Uma had been with Chandrababu Naidu on every occasion.
Another interesting point in the third list of the TDP is that senior leaders like Ganta Srinivasa Rao, K Kala Venkata Rao and Bandaru Sathyanarayana Murthy also could not find their names in the list. All these senior leaders have been with Chandrababu Naidu in the hour of crisis. Chandrababu Naidu betrayed them by denying the ticket.
In Vijayawada, as expected, Kesineni Sivanadh was given the Parliament ticket. Sivanadh is the brother of sitting MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) who defected to the ruling YSR Congress. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh have encouraged Sivanadh in the last three years against Kesineni Srinivas.
In Narasaraopet sitting MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu was given the ticket. He joined the TDP recently defecting from the ruling YSR Congress.
