Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s unconventional and cautious film, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, has been nearly a year since its release on the big screens. Since the conclusion of its theatrical run, avid movie lovers have eagerly anticipated its digital release. However, the delay in its arrival on OTT platforms has caused significant frustration among the audience. Recent reports have indicated that the movie is expected to debut digitally in May.
The buzz is that Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is set to be released for streaming on Jio Cinema starting on 17th May. However, an official confirmation is pending from the streaming platform. The film, which gained popularity among the audience due to its hit songs, had a successful run at the box office. It had a decent opening due to the BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) promotion and continued to perform consistently, grossing over 85 crores net in its theatrical run, making it a super hit. This success is a testament to the audience’s love and support for the film. Directed by Laxman Utekar, known for films like Mimi and Luka Chuppi, the movie was produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyothi Deshpande. Inaamulhaq, Sushmita Mukherjee, and Neeraj Sood portrayed significant roles in the film.
The film tells about Kapil Dubey (Vicky Kaushal), his wife Saumya Chawla Dubey (Sara Ali Khan), and their extended family, who find themselves in a chaotic situation when the pandit’s family unintentionally consumes an egg-containing cake. As Kapil’s aunt (Kanupriya Pandit) criticizes the Punjabi daughter-in-law for the mishap, the latter firmly decides to leave and escape the constant mockery. This marks the start of their journey to purchase a house, which is an unaffordable endeavor for the couple.
