Bad Newz has completed three weeks at the box office. Starring Vicky Kaushal, and Triptii Dimri along with Ammy Virk in the lead roles was released in theaters worldwide on July 19th. Though the film registered a good opening at the box office, it could not sustain the momentum after the first weekend.
Bad Newz started its box office journey in India with an opening day of over Rs 8.5 Cr Net and the first weekend’s total was 32 Crores Net. On Day 21, the film gathered around 35 Lakhs Net. For 3 weeks, Bad Newz has collected 65 Crores Net in India and 77 Crores Gross. The film has almost finished its theatrical run and it can be termed as a Semi hit.
Made as a romantic comedy, Bad Newz deals with heteropaternal superfecundation, a situation where one woman conceives twins from two separate men. In the film, Triptii Dimri played the mother character while Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk appeared as fathers. Director Anand Tiwari tried to present this story with a mixture of fun and emotional elements. However the reviewers felt that his narration could have been much stronger. Bad Newz will be streamed on Prime Video in September first week.
