Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shocked his allies, the TDP and Jana Sena, in Andhra Pradesh, which are alliance partners. Modi in his tweet in X, said that “I will be addressing rallies in Jagital and Shivamogga today. Later in the evening, will join a road show in Coimbatore. Be it Telangana, Karnataka, or Tamil Nadu, there is exceptional fervor in NDA’s favour.”
Modi spoke about Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, all states in South praising the election campaign in these states. But he did not mention anything about Andhra Pradesh. Quite interestingly, it was a day before he addressed a public meeting at Chilakaluripet, along with TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.
The TDP and Jana Sena have high hopes on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP leadership in the alliance. They have high expectations about the alliance, and they speak about the three parties joining the alliance.
However, except addressing the public meeting along with Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, there was nothing that Modi spoke or wrote about Andhra Pradesh. Even in his speech at Chilakaluripet, he did not target the ruling YSR Congress much as expected by the TDP and Jana Sena.
Modi had only said that the ruling party ministers were indulging in corruption. He did not even mention chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s name in the public meeting. He did not say anything about Jagan Mohan Reddy and his government in the state.
All this had disappointed Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. Adding fuel to the fire, Modi did not mention anything about Andhra Pradesh in his tweet. He did not mention that he had addressed a meeting in Andhra Pradesh. He did not say that people are supporting NDA in Andhra Pradesh, like he said about the other three southern states.
It appears that the BJP had joined the alliance only for the six MP seats and nothing more. It also looks like a half-hearted alliance that the BJP had agreed and is not expecting anything from the TDP and Jana Sena alliance from the state.
This feeling worries the TDP and Jana Sena more. They are now in a shock as the Prime Minister had ignored Andhra Pradesh and the alliance with them.
