YSR Congress leaders meet Governor, complain on violence

A team of YSR Congress leaders met Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer at Raj Bhavan on Thursday and lodged a complaint with him against the TDP-sponsored violence in the state after the polling. They alleged that the TDP was promoting violence in the state targeting the YSR Congress leaders.

The team also complained that the violent incidents took place wherever the EC appointed new SPs during the election. The police have failed to prevent the TDP leaders from attacking the YSR Congress leaders in Palnadu and Anantapur districts.

Speaking to the media, Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that the TDP leaders were resorting to violence with the support of party chief N Chandrababu Naidu. They alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was behind all these incidents.

They wanted the Governor to intervene and take action against those who were responsible for the incidents. They said that the violence taking place after the polling was the cause of concern. They wondered why the TDP leaders were resorting to violence.

They alleged that observer Deepak Mishra was acting in favour of the TDP. He was sending wrong reports to the election commission and all his reports were against the YSR Congress, the YSR Congress leaders said.

The YSR Congress leaders said that Deepak Mishra had met the retired IPS and IAS officers who are in favour of the TDP. He took inputs from these officers and started working against the YSR Congress, they alleged.

They also wanted the Governor and the Election Commission to take action against Deepak Mishra. They further said that Mishra was threatening the district SPs to send reports in favour of the TDP and against the YSR Congress. They have asked the Election Commission to take back Mishra and appoint a new officer in his place.
