YSR Congress leader and Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh high court seeking transfer of police officials investigating his cases. The police have filed nine cases against him in the post-poll violence.
Ramakrishna Reddy said that the police officials are working in a biased manner. He said that they are intentionally working against him. He wanted the court to direct the transfer of the officials or give the case to other police officials.
Ramakrishna Reddy got anticipatory bail from the Andhra Pradesh high court in the post-poll related violence. The police have booked several cases including an attempted to murder case against the MLA. He got anticipatory bail till June 5. The high court also directed the police not to arrest Ramakrishna Reddy till the counting is over.
The YSR Congress had complained to the EC against the police officials in Palnadu district. The YSR Congress alleged that the police officials were working in favour of the opposition TDP. The IG and other officials were taking the side of the TDP, the YSR Congress alleged.
Meanwhile, the TDP had made several allegations against the MLA. The party had also brought a book on the MLA’s criminal activities and the cases pending against him. The book was released in the TDP office, the other day. They blame the MLA for resorting to violence after the polling. The TDP also alleges that the MLA resorted to violence even during polling and encouraged his supporters to resort to violence.
