Kadapa court penalises Sharmila

The Kadapa court on Wednesday asked AP Congress president Y S Sharmila to pay a fine of Rs 10000 to the court. The court directed Sharmila to pay the fine to district legal cell. The court issued orders following Sharmila and her sister Dr Narreddy Suneetha Reddy filing a petition in the court against its earlier order not to refer to Y S Vivekananda Reddy’s murder in the election campaign. The court issued orders earlier last month asking everyone not to refer to Vivekananda Reddy’s murder during their election campaign.

Both Sharmila and Suneetha Reddy field a review petition in the High Court against the Kadapa court order. The high court on hearing the arguments directed the petitioners to settle the issue in the Kadapa court only. The high court also directed the Kadapa court to hear the petitions once again. The court heard the case on Wednesday. It found that both Sharmila and Suneetha have submitted false statements in the court. The court expressed serious objection to the petition and dismissed it.

Sharmila and Suneetha Reddy have been referring to the case in their election campaign. Sharmila is contesting from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency and Suneetha is supporting her. They both have been referring the case in their election meetings. They are accusing their rival and YSR Congress candidate Y S Avinash Reddy of having killed Vivekananda Reddy.
With the court issuing orders not to raise the issue, it is now to be seen what both Sharmila and Suneetha Reddy would do in their election meetings.
