Among them, the latter has made a mark in the history of the box office. Manjummel Boys, a survival thriller directed by Chidambaram, was released on February 22, 2024. It has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the Rs. The 100 crore mark in global revenue was reached within just 12 days of its release. This accomplishment makes it the first Malayalam film to achieve this feat in 2024.
Following in the footsteps of acclaimed films like Pulimurugan, Lucifer, and 2018, Manjummel Boys is a notable achievement in the Mollywood industry. Moreover, the movie has garnered attention in Tamil Nadu by becoming the region’s first Malayalam film to gross Rs. 15 crores. Its success has raised expectations for potential record-breaking performances at the box office.
Featuring actors like Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr., and others, Manjummel Boys is produced by Parava Films and boasts a musical score by Sushin Shyam. The story revolves around a circle of companions encountering unforeseen mishaps during a holiday excursion to Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. In a previous interview, Sushin Shyam, the composer, highlighted that ‘Manjummel Boys’ is a revolutionary film for Malayalam cinema. Demonstrating the accuracy of his statement, ‘Manjummel Boys’ has undeniably become a standout in Mollywood.
