Manjummel Boys is Streaming on OTT now

The popular Malayalam movie Manjummel Boys is now available on the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar. It is available in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada and is accompanied by English subtitles. The audiences were eagerly waiting for the digital release of this film, and they will be delighted to know that the film is now out on OTT. The movie not only received immense praise from one and all, but it also created many records at the box office. Manjummel Boys is the highest-grosser in the Malayalam Film Industry.

Manjummel Boys was released in cinemas on February 22 this year and created a sensation at the box office in Kerala and other southern states. Just over two months after its theatrical debut, the movie has now premiered on an OTT platform. Directed by Chidambaram, this survival drama features a talented ensemble cast, including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, and Shebin Benson. Inspired by an actual event from 2006, Manjummel Boys follows a group of friends from Kerala on a trip to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. While exploring the Gunaa Caves, one of the friends’ group falls into a deep pit, leading to a gripping story of their efforts to rescue their friend. The film grossed over Rs 200 crore, making it one of the highest-earning Malayalam movies.

The Malayalam film Manjummel Boys strongly connects to the 1991 Tamil Gunaa, which starred Kamal Haasan. Not only does the movie feature the boys exploring the Kodaikanal caves, now known as Gunaa Caves, after the original film was shot there, but it also uniquely incorporates the iconic song Kanmani. This song became one of the major highlights of Manjummel Boys and played a significant role in resonating with the audience in Tamil Nadu. The technical crew of Manjummel Boys includes Sushin Shyam as the music composer, Shyju Khalid as the cinematographer, and Vivek Harshan as the editor. Upon its release, the film received positive reviews, with critics praising the cast’s performances, the writing, and the technical aspects.
