Latest Malayalam Movies are set to be released on OTT

The wait is almost over for those who couldn’t catch Tovino Thomas’ ‘Nadikar’ and Nivin Pauly’s Malayalee From India in theaters. These two Malayalam gems, which hit the screens in the first week of May, are gearing up for their digital premieres. The buzz among fans of these actors is palpable, as they eagerly await the reviews for the OTT release on a popular digital platform in mid-June, despite the absence of any official confirmation from the makers.

Nadikar and Malayalee from India garnered high anticipation from audiences due to their talented casts. However, they failed to leave a lasting impression after their release. The mixed reviews and underwhelming box office performance suggest that the delay in the OTT release could be attributed to these factors. On the other hand, movies like Guruvayoorambala Nadayil and Turbo, which are currently running successfully in theaters, are also anticipated to make their digital debut shortly. Nadikar recounted the narrative of superstar David Padikkal’s journey to stardom and how his inflated ego obstructed his ability to refine his skills. The film may be shaky, but Tovino’s portrayal elevates the second half, as the reviews state. On the contrary, Malayalee from India focused on Aalparambil Gopi, a young man without direction whose life inadvertently gets entangled in a contentious issue in his hometown. The movie clearly demonstrates why people should be cautious of divisive politics and not fall for deception.

Varshangalkku Shesham, starring Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, has now been released on the digital platform yesterday (June 6). This movie is available for streaming on SonyLIV in five different languages. Earlier this month, the makers of Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham and Unni Mukundan’s Jai Ganesh had already announced the digital platforms for their respective movies. All three of these films were released on April 11, coinciding with the Vishu season. On the other hand, Aadujeevitham, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s survival thriller, which premiered in theaters in March, is still awaiting confirmation for its OTT release date.
