Chief Minister and the ruling YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday raised the election bugle at the cabinet meeting. Interacting with the ministers after the cabinet meeting, the chief minister told them that the elections are likely to be brought forward by at least 20 days.
He told them that the election commission is planning to advance the election date by at least 20 days and asked the ministers to be prepared. He told them to go to the people and increase their interaction with the people.
The chief minister also told them to counter the misleading campaign by a section of the media. He said that the yellow media was leading a false campaign against the government. The yellow media was actually waging the war against the government, he said. He wanted the ministers to counter the campaign by the media.
The chief minister told them that Eenadu, ABN Andhra Jyothi and TV5 were leading a campaign against the government. They have anti-government and the anti-YSR Congress stories packed in their media houses, he said. He wanted the Ministers to counter them on daily basis.
The chief minister also told them that the yellow media is cooking up stories to cause damage to the ruling party and do some favour to the opposition TDP. The TDP is also leading the campaign against the ruling party, he said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted the ministers to activate the MLAs and MPs while going to the people. He asked them to explain the government stories and the welfare initiatives of the government. He told them to list the number of welfare programmes, direct cash transfer and other activities of the government in the last five years.
The chief minister also told them how the government had come to their rescue during the Covid 19 lockdown.
