Jagan lays foundation stone for Kanakadurga temple

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday laid foundation stone for various developmental works at the Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada. He reached the temple in the morning to lay the foundation stone.

The temple officials and the priests welcomed the chief minister with the ceremonial reception. Later, he broke the coconut and laid the foundation stone. The temple would be taking up various developmental works at a cost of Rs 216 crore.

The temple would have Anna Prasada bhavan (free meals hall) at a cost of Rs 57 crore, Prasadm potu bhavan at a cost of Rs 27 crore, elevated queue complex at a cost of Rs 13 crore, Rajagopuram elevation at a cost of Rs 15 crore and south queue complex at a cost of Rs 23.5 crore.

The chief minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of entry gate at Kanakadurga Nagar at a cost of Rs 7.75 crore, queue complex at Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam at Rs 18.30 crore and tonsure hall at a cost of Rs 19 crore. The temple would also be converting the cow hall into a multi complex at a cost of Rs 10 crore.

He also inaugurated the newly built 8 temples at Indrakeeladri. These temples were constructed at a cost of Rs 3.87 crore by the endowments department. He also inaugurated a solar power plant at Pathapadu village on the outskirts of the city, which was also established by the endowments department.

The chief minister inaugurated the Anjaneyaswamy and Vinakaya temples built by the endowments department at the foot of the Indrakeeladri hill.

Later the chief minister worshiped the presiding deity Kanakadurga. The temple priests blessed the chief minister.
