Jagan govt to move to Visakha, issues two GOs

The State government is gearing up to move to Visakhapatnam shortly. The Government had issued two GOs directing all the officials to find accommodation in Visakhapatnam and be available for the chief minister and other ministers.

The GOs were issued in the name of development of Uttarandhra region. Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy said that the government is giving utmost priority for the development of Uttarandhra region, consisting of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Anakapalle, Parvathipuram Manyam and Araku districts.

The chief secretary told the officials that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and other ministers would be camping in Visakhapatnam to hold review meetings and preparatory meetings on the development of the region from time to time.

As the chief minister would also be present in Visakhapatnam and would be camping in the nights too, the chief secretary wanted the officials to find accommodation too for them and the staff. The government would be opening offices and accommodation for the senior officials and the staff for this purpose.

The chief minister had already planned to move to Visakhapatnam from Dasara. He would be staying in the executive capital for two days every week. However, it might get delayed as the buildings are not ready yet for the chief minister to host his office and accommodation.

Sources in the chief minister’s office say that the chief minister might start working from Visakhapatnam from this November. He is bent on moving to the executive capital before he goes for the next round of general election scheduled in March-April 2024.
