Happened to see the animated series “Bujji and Bhairava,” which is considered a prelude to the sci-fi film “Kalki 2898 AD,” set to be released on July 27, 2024. Directed by Nag Ashwin, he and his team meticulously worked to create a whole new world. The riveting trailer cut clearly reflects their hard work.
Regarding the trailer cut, some viewers had doubts about the film’s potential. I would suggest watching this prelude animated series, which consists of two episodes titled “Bujji and Bhairava.” This short series is not just any random one; it provides many insights into the main project.
The camaraderie between Prabhas as Bhairava and Keerthy as Bujji, along with the introduction of “Complex” and Bhairava’s characterization—where Prabhas’s comedic skills are on full display—makes it worth watching. The series also emphasizes the importance of units in this created world, which looks promising. It also has an interesting storyline that unites both Bhairava and Bujji.
The animation work quality is excellent. I especially liked Brahmanandam’s face cut; he looks cute, and his original voice gives the same vibe as the film. Prabhas, as usual, impresses with his comedic skills even during serious moments. Bujji, who is going to play a pivotal role, appears set to be dashing on screen.
I wonder why the makers haven’t promoted this series well. Many are not aware of it. “Bujji and Bhairava” is not just an animation but has many meaningful routes that make it easier for us to connect to the story when the film gets released on June 27. Just have a look at the trailer cut after watching the series, and you will be able to understand.
