Dhoomam OTT Release Date is Out

Director Pawan Kumar finally realized his long-time dream of bringing his vision to the big screen with the Malayalam film Dhoomam, more than ten years after initially considering the project. Unfortunately, his plans to work on a Kannada film with production house Hombale Films and actor Puneeth Rajkumar were derailed due to the unexpected passing of the lead actor. However, when the banner showed interest in collaborating with Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil and inquired about the availability of a suitable script, Pawan presented his desired storyline as C10H14N2 (The chemical formula of Nicotine). Intrigued by the concept, everyone eagerly agreed to be a part of the project, leading to the creation of Dhoomam.

Regrettably, Dhoomam did not achieve the anticipated success for Pawan despite the involvement of the director, actor, and production house. The film received harsh criticism upon its release, and even its OTT debut was postponed. Eventually, it was made available on Apple TV through TVOD rather than on more widely used platforms. Dhoomam, which was released in theaters almost a year ago, is now making its way to an OTT platform once again. This time, it will be available on the official YouTube channel of Hombale Films, ensuring that those who missed it in theaters can now watch it online. What is more remarkable is that Hombale Films will be showcasing the film on its official YouTube channel to commemorate World No Tobacco Day on May 31.

The film revolves around Fahadh, who plays the role of a marketing executive for a tobacco company. He and his wife are kidnapped, and when they wake up, they discover that one of them has a timebomb inside them. To escape their dangerous situation, they must follow the instructions of their captor. Although the film aimed to convey a significant message about the dangers of smoking, it, unfortunately, failed to make the desired impact.
