AP BJP leaders making representations on seats

The AP BJP leaders are giving representations to the party top leadership in Delhi on seat sharing with the TDP. They allege that the TDP is giving them seats where the party has no organisational structure. They also say that the TDP is giving seats to the BJP where the TDP has less chances of winning.

The TDP is giving leaks that it would give Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam North, Paderu, Anaparthi, Kaikaluru, Vijayawada West, Badvel, Jammalamadugu, Dharmavaram, and Adoni to the BJP. On the other hand, the BJP is asking for Visakhapatnam North or Paderu, Chodavaram or Madugula, P Gannavaram, Rajamahendravaram Urban, Kaikaluru, Vijayawada Central, one seat in Guntur district, Kadiri, Madanapalli and Srikalahasti seats.

The BJP state leaders are insisting upon giving Vijayawada central, Madugula, Kadiri, Srikalahasti, Madanapalli Assembly seats. The BJP state leaders say that it would be better if the party withdrew the alliance if these seats are not given. They are also insisting upon the TDP giving Hindupur Parliament seat to the BJP, for which the TDP is not ready.

On Badvel Assembly seat, the BJP state leaders say that the party could not get deposits in the previous elections. Moreover, the TDP has no candidates for this seat and hence it was given to the BJP, they say. Chandrababu Naidu had given Dharmavaram and Jammalamadugu seats to the BJP only to benefit his supporters Varadapuaram Suri and Adinarayana Reddy. The two leaders are considered the B Team of Chandrababu Naidau and hence the two seats were given to the BJP, the state BJP leaders complained to the party top leadership.

The TDP had already declared its candidates in Chodavaram, Madugula, Rajamahendravaram Urban, P Gannavaram, Vijayawada Central, Kadiri, Madanapalli, and Srikalahasti seats. The TDP says that it would not go back on these seats and is asking the BJP to take other seats.

The BJP leaders say they don’t even have cadre in the seats offered by the TDP, leave alone having candidates to fight the election. They prefer Vijayawada Central constituency to the West constituency which is offered by the TDP. The BJP had won the Vijayawada Central seat in 1999 with actor Kota Srinivasa Rao and is now asking for the same constituency for which the TDP is not ready.
