The YSR Congress MPs-elect have called on chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Tadepalli camp office here on Wednesday. They thanked the chief minister for naming them for the Rajya Sabha elections.
MPs-elect, Y V Subba Reddy, Golla Babu Rao and Meda Raghunadha Reddy met the chief minister and thanked him for electing them as the Rajya Sabha members. They said that the election reflected the social justice of the chief minister. They further said that the chief minister had been working on social justice. The chief minister had worked so far for the uplift of the weaker sections, they said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy had sent two BCs in the past to the Rajya Sabha. Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao were sent to the Rajya Sabha. Sending two BCs at one go was the record set by Jagan Mohan Reddy, they said.
The MPs-elect said that they would work to strengthen the hands of Jagan Mohan Reddy both in the party and the government as well. They criticised the opposition parties for targeting the chief minister and maintained that people were not ready to buy their lies.
Subba Reddy, while interacting with the media persons after meeting the chief minister said, that the YSR Congress had already won the 2024 general elections to the State Assembly. He said that the other parties were fighting for the second and third place in the elections.
He said that people are not ready to buy the lies of Chandrababu Naidu who promises many things at the time of elections and does nothing after the election. He further said that the TDP had the history of withdrawing the election manifesto from the party’s official website.
He said that in the last 2014 general elections, Chandrababu Naidu had promised total loan waiver for the farmers and the SHG women. However, after coming o power, he took four years to waiver Rs 1.50 lakh loan to the farmers, he said.
Subba Reddy said that people are aware of the electoral tricks of Chandrababu Naidu. He said that the TDP chief cannot cheat the people anymore. “This is not 1980s. This is 2024. People are wise enough to understand the political games of Chandrababu Naidu,” Subba Reddy said.
