TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is not the only former chief minister to have been sent to the jail in India. There were several former chief ministers in the country who were sent to the jail over the years.
He has been asking for so many excuses in the jail. He complained about mosquitoes first and then non-supply of hot water. He wanted home-made food and it was allowed by the court to serve him food from home three times a day.
He is now complaining about the possible threat to his life in the jail. Stating that he is a Z Plus security person, he finds some threat to his life in the jail. He wrote a letter to the ACB court, on Friday complaining about the threat to his life from the jail inmates.
He alleged that the ruling YSR Congress party leaders have tied-up with some left extremist groups and have planned to kill him in the jail. He said that the East Godavari district SP had received a letter on this count. However, neither the SP nor the jail officials have taken steps to verify this.
What is that Naidu and his family members and the party leaders want now? Though he is charged with some corruption, he doesn’t want to be arrested and jailed? Rather he wants to a star hotel to be converted into jail and put him there!
He is not the only former chief minister to be arrested in the country. Several former chief ministers and working chief ministers were arrested and sent to the jail.
Tamil Nadu former chief minister M Karunanidhi was sent to the jail. Its former chief minister J Jayalalithaa was also sent to the jail. She was sent to the jail when she was serving as the chief minister of the state in 2014.
Bihar former chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav was sent to the jail. He was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment in 2017. Jharkhand former chief minister Madhu Koda was arrested in 2009. He was sent to the jail in the same year.
Haryana former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala was also arrested in 2013 and was sentenced 10 years imprisonment. He was accused of appointing over 3000 teachers illegally during his term as the chief minister.
Above all, former prime minister Indira Gandhi was sent to the jail. She was not given AC and home food as is being given to Chandrababu Naidu. Still Naidu and his men complain some thing or the other about the jail.
Well, Mr Naidu, you are in the jail like any other accused or convict. Jail is not a start hotel to provide all facilities.
