Eenadu and Margadarsi groups chairman Cherukuri Ramoji Rao is spending sleepless nights these days with the general elections approaching fast. He is becoming restless and leaving no stone unturned to create an anti-feeling against the ruling YSR Congress and favourable situation for the opposition TDP.
His 20-page Eenadu paper is filled with all lies against the government and the YSR Congress. The paper is also equally filled with pro-TDP news.
He did the same when NTR launched Telugu Desam Party in 1982. He wrote all favourable news about NTR and the people rallying around his vehicle. If there were 100 people, he used to project it as 1000 people.
He did the same for the anti-arrack agitation in the state. If there are 10 people in the rally against arrack, he used to project them as thousand people. He used to give a banner story for the anti-arrack rallies with cooked up photographs giving the impression that the movement is picking up.
When Chandrababu Naidu revolted against NTR in 1995, Ramoji Rao used to write that there are 100 MLAs behind Naidu. But the actual number was less than a dozen those days. The other MLAs used to believe it and went for Chandrababu Naidu.
Ramoji Rao is continuing the same these days. But what he is forgetting is that this is 2024 and people have access to the social media. They are checking the facts, and they don’t believe blindly whatever the media says.
People are seeing for themselves about the construction of ports, fishing harbours, medical colleges, government hospitals, village clinics, schools and many more. They know how the pension is distributed at the doorstep. They know how the ration is given at the doorstep.
They see the government school children walking in uniform and holding tabs. They are getting the funds deposited in their bank accounts under several schemes.
With all these happening right in front of their eyes, will people buy Ramoji Rao’s lies is the big question. Ramoji Rao is wasting his money, energy and resources to spread lies and make people believe them.
