The 8 Show OTT Release Details

After a series of consecutive romantic K-Dramas, Netflix is preparing to captivate its audience with a fresh and thrilling offering. The renowned streaming platform will introduce a mystery thriller series centered around eight individuals who are entangled in a game show that unexpectedly alters the course of their lives. Drawing inspiration from the popular webtoons Money Game and Pie Game, The 8 Show is an upcoming K-Drama penned by the talented Bae Jin-Soo. Netflix has consistently found success with the thriller genre, and The 8 Show is poised to continue this trend following the massive triumph of Queen of Tears. As May 17, 2024, approaches, keep a close watch on Netflix, as this upcoming K-Drama thriller is bound to be another groundbreaking hit for the streaming platform.

The 8 Show revolves around 8 individuals in desperate need of money. One beautiful morning, they are invited to participate in a reality game show called Money Game, which promises to fulfill their dreams and award them a staggering 44.8 billion Won (Korean currency). However, there’s a catch – the participants must endure 100 days inside a bare concrete studio without entertainment or companionship. As the days go by, the contestants will face the harsh realities of their confinement and the intricate dynamics of human behavior under pressure. If they manage to endure the full 100 days, they can divide the prize money equally among themselves.

The promotional video depicts a dimly lit theater, where a young man strides towards the stage as the spotlight illuminates his path. Upon reaching the stage, he discovers a crimson envelope resting on a table. Moving backstage, he stumbles upon an eerie, vacant room. Subsequently, each member is unveiled individually as they reveal their respective envelopes. These red envelopes serve as invitations to the upcoming game. Finally, the video showcases the entire ensemble, featuring Ryu Jun-Yeol, Cheon Woo-Hee, Park Jeong-Min, Lee Yul-Eum, Park Hae-Jun, Lee Joo-Young, Moon Jeong-Hee, and Bae Seong-Woo.
