Story:
Rekha is a shy village girl who fears to go out at nights. She is hated by her father, but her grandmother supports her. Rekha has a special ability to see ghosts/spirits and faces problems because of that power. She takes the job off, finishing an evil tantrik who tries to gain supernatural powers by hypnotizing her. The rest of the story is how Rekha wins over in achieving her goal.
Performances:
Ananya Nagalla was well suited to the character of an innocent girl thrown into extraordinary circumstances. Her performance is the only thing that worked for the film. Dhanush Raghumudri, Temper Vamsi, Meesala Laxman, Saloni and others were fine.
Analysis:
Director Srinivas Gopisetti tried to make a horror thriller in a village backdrop. The basic plot was good, and the film could have been a well-made horror movie if it had been made with a good screenplay. However, the director failed to get the things right except for a few scenes. The first half has an inconsistent feel throughout, and the latter has moderately decent appeal for a while.
Positives:
The performance from the lead actress, Ananya Nagalla is the first plus point of the film. Some twists in the film work well, for example the scenes involving the backstory of Saloni. Also, the pre climax raises the anticipation level.
Negatives:
The audience will expect a certain pattern of scenes and narration. Tantra also applies the same technique, but there are many illogical scenes that add to the confusion. The other characters and their intentions were not shown properly. Also, the director completely forgot about the character of heroine’s father in the end and the character did not even have a proper conclusion.
Review: (1:5/5)
Last Line: Irregular and rotten horror thriller
