Janaka Aithe Ganaka Review

Story:

Prasad (Suhas) is a married middle-class man working who does not want kids. He has a justified reason according to him and never wants to change decision despite constant pressure from the parents and friends. However, as fate would have it, his wife becomes pregnant? Shocked by this, Prasad files a case on a condom company stating that he deserves compensation because their product failed in fulfilling the requirement? Is Prasad’s case valid? How does he prove this point and win the case is the request of the story.

Performances:

Suhas suited the character and delivered a neat performance. Particularly, his acting in crucial scenes of the second half was perfect. Sangeerthana’s role had importance in the story, but she does not have any scope to perform. Goparaju Ramana, Vennela Kishore, and Prabhas Seenu were apt. Murali Sharma is introduced with a solid buildup, but he did little. Rajendra Prasad was good in the judge’s character.

Analysis:

Director Sandeep Bandla who is also the writer of Janaka Aithe Ganaka came up with an interesting and relatable idea. He did not waste much time and got into the story. He was successful in establishing the backdrop of the lead character and his decision to not have kids. The initial and final courtroom sequences were too worked well. However, he could have worked more on showing the story from the hero’s wife’s side and taking care of the court scenes in the latter half.

Positives:

Besides Suhas’s performance, the comedy parts in the first half work well for the film. The court scenes near the interval also are useful and fit in the narrative. The last half an hour escalates the fun and drama to the next level.

Negatives:

Janaka Aithe Ganaka suffers with repetitive feel. The court scenes, which look good for a while, get monotonous and derail the seriousness of the story. The TV channels giving live commentary about the hero’s case looked silly. Also, the realization of heroine should have been more effective.

Rating: 2.75/5

Last Line: Janaka Aithe Ganaka — Slightly drawn out but a decent comedy drama

Note:* It’s a personal opinion. It will not be based on it’s film run or the talk on the other side.
