“Tiger Nageswara Rao” explores the themes of blood, tears, and a brutal hunt with revealed hidden goodness. Crafting a biopic of a thief is a complex task, as the director must convincingly portray both the good and cruel sides of the character. The film succeeds in engaging the audience by effectively showcasing the brutal version of the protagonist in the first half while justifying and explaining each scene in the second half. The director manages to convey the right intentions behind every act of violence, impressively convincing the audience of the character’s motivations. In “Tiger Nageswara Rao,” the love story between Ravi Teja and Nupur Sanon stands out for its unique portrayal. Unlike conventional love stories in commercial films, where the hero teases the heroine and they eventually fall in love, this film takes a different approach. In this case, the hero himself is a villain, adding a layer of complexity to the narrative. The director handles this track exceptionally well, incorporating various emotions into the short and crisp love story. Some may argue that the harshness went overboard, but it’s justified by the character’s demands. The director effectively connects the hero’s intentions to the conclusion of the love story. Additionally, the director strategically introduces the lead actress whenever the film seems to deviate from its path, successfully altering the flow. This approach is similarly applied to the Ravi Teja and Gayatri Bharadwaj track in the second half.
Ravi Teja’s looks in “Tiger Nageswara Rao” deserve a special mention. The director had a clear vision and successfully brought out the best looks from Ravi Teja since “Krack.” Credit also goes to the makeup artist who made a commendable effort to portray Ravi Teja in a younger role convincingly. Ravi Teja’s outstanding performance played a significant role in making the looks seamlessly blend with the character, unlike certain instances, such as Chiranjeevi’s appearance in the “Acharya” flashback, which eventually became fodder for trolling.
