SC to hear Naidu’s bail plea, HC to hear ring road case

The Supreme Court would take up hearing on the anticipatory bail petition of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday in the fibernet case. The AP high court had rejected the anticipatory bail petition following which Chandrababu Naidu approached the Supreme Court.

Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Bela M Trivedi to hear the case. The case was posted in Court No 6 and Item number 301.

It was alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had done some favours to a company called Terra Soft by giving the contract of the fibernet programme. The money was routed to various companies and finally landed in the TDP accounts.

People from the Terra Soft were also made key players in the government departments and thus Chandrababu Naidu violated the oath of secrecy, the APCID alleged.

Meanwhile, the AP high court is set to hear the Amaravati inner ring road alignment case. It was alleged that Naidu did favours to industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh by changing the alignment of the inner ring road for Amaravati. Chandrababu Naidu gave exemption to Lingamaneni Ramesh by excluding his lands from acquisition for the road.

After changing the alignment, the road passed by the lands belonging to Ramesh. In return, Ramesh had given his guest house on the banks of river Krishna to Chandrababu Naidu which is now being used as his residence.

Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh, besides the then TDP minister for municipal administration P Narayana are accused in the case. The CID had filed the case and submitted the case dairy to the ACB court in Vijayawada for further proceedings. Chandrababu Naidu filed anticipatory bail petition in the high court in the case.

The high court is also scheduled to take up hearing of the free sand policy case in which the government had swindled huge amounts of money. The government did favours to several TDP leaders by giving them sand reaches at free of cost causing heavy loss to the state exchequer.
