After watching Animal, several scenes linger in our mind due to their repeat value. Among them, Ranbir Kapoor’s defense of his sister in a college ragging, Rashmika Mandanna’s performance while confronting Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol’s introduction, and the climax stand out. However, a standout scene for me is the pre-climax.
Yes, the pre-climax where Ranbir Kapoor faces off with Bobby Deol in a one-on-one fight. This sequence was shot outstandingly by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. While the action itself is intense, the placement of the emotional background score and the expressions from both protagonist Ranbir Kapoor and antagonist Bobby Deol were right on the spot, syncing with the BGM. This scene is not like any ordinary action sequence; the actors need to live in the characters, go with the flow by sinking into its background score, and show emotions.
At the same time, they need to concentrate on fighting. While this is one part, both Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol have to play a role in the fight where Ranbir cannot hear, and Bobby cannot speak. This one scene is enough for Animal for its captivating cinematic experience on big screens.
The shot where Bobby Deol, with his six-pack, lays on the back of Ranbir Kapoor with his six-pack and shows his attitude by smoking a cigarette after a few seconds, Ranbir comes up slowly to continue the fight. Imagine this sequence with an extraordinary background score; it’s just amazing.
Both characters have the same goals as they want to protect their families, but with different intentions; however, the wildness is almost the same. Though Ranbir ends the antagonist, We cannot write off Bobby Deol; his performance was just outstanding.
