The Supreme Court on Tuesday posted TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s quash petition to Friday. The court which started the hearing on the case to quash the skill development scam against Naidu, was posted to Friday. The court said that it would continue hearing on the day and give judgment.
Chandrababu Naidu had challenged the AP high court decision on his quash petition. He sought the high court to quash the skill development scam case. The court rejected his petition and upheld the APCID arguments on the case.
Chandrababu Naidu challenged the AP high court decision through a special leave petition in the supreme court.
Arguing for the APCID and the state government, senor advocate Mukul Rahtgi said that section 17A of the prevention of corruption act would not apply to this case. He wanted the court not to take the arguments in support of the section 17A.
Chandrababu Naidu’s advocates Harish Salve and Siddhartha Luthra sought interim bail to Chandrababu Naidu. The supreme court said that granting bail at this point of time was not possible and asked the advocates to continue their arguments.
The supreme court also posted the anticipatory bail petition of Chandrababu Naidu in Fibernet case to Friday. The court directed the state government and the CID not to arrest Chandrababu Naidu till further orders. The court said that it would hear both the cases on Friday.
Meanwhile, in Amaravati, the AP high court posted the anticipatory bail petition of Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development scam to Thursday. The court posted the case to Thursday following requests from the advocate arguing for Chandrababu Naidu.
