Mudragada to join YSRCP on March 14

Former minister and Kapu icon, Mudragada Padmanabham would formally join the ruling YSR Congress at Tadepalli on March 14.

He wrote an open letter to the people seeking their blessings. He said he would take out a rally from his native – Kirlampudi village – on the day to Tadepalli. The rally would pass through Prathipadu, Jaggampet, Lala Cheruvu, Vemagiri, Ravulapalem, Tanuku, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada and reach Tadepalli.

He said that he had made up his mind to join the YSR Congress looking at the development works that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had initiated in the state. He said he wanted more development in the state and, hence joining the ruling party. He further said that he would help the ruling party to develop more in the years to come.

He thanked everyone who have been a big support to him for all these years. He said he is indebted to everyone and would pay them through his service. He always wanted the government to serve the people in the better form. He found that the YSR Congress was serving the people in the best way and hence decided to join the party.

Mudragada had been leading the Kapu movement in the state for several years. He had been fighting for political reservations to the Kapu community. He led a major movement during the TDP regime in the past. A massive public meeting was held at Tuni where the gathering torched the trains and government vehicles in protest.

While the TDP government booked cases against the Kapu activists, the YSR Congress government withdrew all the cases against them. The YSR Congress also extended support to the Mudragada movement.
YSR Congress leaders P V Midhun Reddy held series of talks with Mudragada for the past couple of months. After prolonged talks, Mudragada finally agreed to join the ruling YSR Congress.
He would join the YSR Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy at Tadepalli on the day.
