Eluru police file cases against Chintamaneni

The Eluru police on Friday filed cases against former MLA and TDP candidate for Denduluru Assembly constituency, Chintamaneni Prabhakar. They filed cases against the former MLA under sections 224, 225, 353, 143 read with 149 of IPC for causing objection to the government officers and misbehaving in the police station.

Chintamaneni Prabhakar took away TDP activists from Pedavegi police station in Eluru district by force. TDP activist Talluri Rajasekhar attacked Koppulavarigudem sarpanch Chalapati Sanjeeva Rao’s son Ravi during polling on May 13. The police have asked Rajasekhar to come to the police station following a complaint given by Chalapati Ravi and his father Sanjeeva Rao.

Rajasekhar and his father David reached the police station on Thursday morning. The police have registered a case under section 307 of IPC for attacking Chalapati Ravi during polling. Rajasekhar had communicated the same to Chintamaneni Prabhakar through the TDP activists.

On learning about the case, Chintamaneni came to the police station along with some supporters and attacked the Circle Inspector and Sub-Inspector in the police station. He took away Rajasekhar by force from the police station.The former MLA also shouted at the police for arresting Rajasekhar, the TDP activist. He said that the police were acting in favour of the ruling YSR Congress. He caused obstruction to the CI and SI in the police station.
