The survival thriller film “Manjummel Boys,” the latest addition to the superhits of Malayalam cinema in 2024, has been creating a buzz in its home state of Kerala and worldwide. Since its global release on February 22nd, the film has received positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth, resulting in impressive box office numbers. However, the film’s success extends beyond Kerala. In a remarkable achievement, “Manjummel Boys” has become the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever in Tamil Nadu!
Within seven days of its theatrical release, the film has earned nearly 2 crores in Tamil Nadu and is expected to surpass 3 crores soon. While the trade expected lower footfalls on weekdays, the film collected almost 70 lakhs on its sixth day, indicating a potentially strong performance during the upcoming weekend. Some experts even anticipate that the film could earn around 1-2 crores in a single day shortly.
As “Manjummel Boys” aims for the 100 crore milestone at the global box office, it faces competition from other successful Malayalam films such as “Premalu” and “Bramayugam,” both of which are performing exceptionally well at the box office. Directed by Chidambaram S Poduval and produced by Babu Shahir and Soubin Shahir, the film boasts a talented cast led by Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and Ganapathi S. Poduval, among others. The music for the film is composed by Sushin Shyam.
