Sandeep Reddy Vanga made his directorial debut with Arjun Reddy featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey as lead pair in 2017. He gained appreciation from the Netizens for his bold making and giving one of the best characteristics for the protagonist in Telugu cinema. The director later made his Bollywood Debut in 2019 with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani titled Kabir Singh by remaking his own film Arjun Reddy. The film went on to become the third highest grossing Bollywood film of 2019 and Shahid Kapoor’s highest grossing solo-lead release. It became the 26th highest grossing Indian film of all time.
Director Sandeep Reddy vanga who took a long gap after Kabir Singh is finally ready with his next in Bollywood titled Animal. The film is said to be the PAN India project and is one of the most awaited films of 2023. Animal features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role alongside the beautiful Rashmika Mandanna. It also has Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Trupti Dimri in pivotal roles. Animal was originally scheduled to release on 11th August 2023 but got delayed due to extensive production work. It is finally slated to release on December 1st 2023.
Post the success of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, Seems the director has taken the same route in terms of building the hero characterisation but this time with extra roughness to it. Animal teaser was released to mark Ranbir Kapoor’s 41st birthday. Going by the looks of it the story revolves around a troubled father-son bond against the backdrop of extreme bloodshed in the underworld which causes the son to become a vicious psychopath. Netizens say that in Sandeep Reddy Vanga first film, The protagonist was going rogue in the name of love but here the content itself takes the backdrop of the underworld so one could expect how the director has built the protagonist character. Ever since the teaser and couple of songs released, Ranbir, Rashmika and Anil Kapoor names were doing rounds in social media for their characteristics but we should not underestimate Bobby Deol.
Bobby Deol is playing as the antagonist in Animal. As they say if the protagonist character is strong in a mafia backdrop the reason behind it would be the antagonist who plays as secret weapon to the concept. Bobby Deol’s characterisation could be even more wild than the protagonist. As we can see through the teaser cut in the the run time of 2 min 26 seconds though it highlighted the characteristics of Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Also Rashmika to some extent the last 20 seconds of Bobby Deol is the stand out scene. His attitude and presence is too wild and he is going to be the silent killer for the film. Animal trailer date is expected to be out soon.
