Idi Minnal Kadhal, a neo-noir film in Tamil, is scheduled to make its digital premiere on Aha Tamil on April 26. The movie features Ciby in the lead role. Ciby gained popularity after appearing on Bigg Boss Tamil season 5 and playing a supporting role in the hit film Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay.
Ciby’s performance in Vanjagar Ulagam, his first leading role, is his most impressive work so far. Like his previous film, the 2018 crime thriller, his latest project, Idi Minnal Kadhal, is a perfect example of a neo-noir movie. Yasmin Ponnappa’s return to the silver screen in Idi Minnal Kadhal is another notable aspect of the cast. Her initial foray into the world of cinema was through the film Aaranya Kaandam in 2010. Unfortunately, the movie didn’t gain the recognition it deserved upon its release over ten years ago. Nevertheless, it has gradually garnered a devoted fan base over time, primarily due to its convenient accessibility for streaming.
In the film Aaranya Kaandam, Yasmin portrayed the character of a classic femme fatale. She plays a similar role in Idi Minnal Kadhal as well. Based on the trailer, Idi Minnal Kadhal, written and directed by Balaji Madhavan, revolves around a couple’s attempt to escape a hit-and-run incident. Haran, played by Chiby, and Janani, played by Bhavya Trikha, accidentally hit a man while driving at night. Since there are no apparent witnesses to the accident, the couple sees an opportunity to evade punishment. However, the story takes a twist when they become entangled with the victim’s son, leading them into a complex web of deception, falsehoods, and hidden truths.
