CID questioning Lokesh on second day concludes

The AP CID completed the questioning of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh on the second day completed. The officials have posed several questions to Lokesh during the last two days on the Amaravati inner ring road.

While the officials questioned Lokesh on his role in Heritage foods and the TDP government between 2014 and 2019 on the first day, they raised the questions of inner ring road alignment changes and the purpose of Heritage foods purchasing lands near Mangalagiri.

The CID officials have also asked Lokesh how and why industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh gave his guest house to the Nara family on the banks of river Krishna in Undavalli. Sources say that Lokesh did not answer directly to any of these questions. He tried to evade the answers and said that he did not know anything about the alignment and Ramesh’s house.

The CID also raised several questions on the decisions taken by the cabinet sub-committee on the inner ring road. They wanted to know who influenced the cabinet sub-committee on the changes to the inner ring road. Lokesh did not answer any of the questions about the cabinet sub-committee, sources said.

The AP high court had asked Lokesh to cooperate with CID officials. The court also directed the CID to allow the advocate of Lokesh to be present while Lokesh is being questioned.

Meanwhile, the CID officials have also questioned former TDP minister P Narayana’s son-in-law Puneeth on the day. They have questioned him simultaneously for five hours and have asked him to appear before them on Thursday.

The CID alleged that the Heritage group, which is owned by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s family had purchased the lands near Mangalagiri and the inner ring road for Amaravti was designed in such a way that these lands are just adjacent to the inner ring road. The designs of the inner ring road were changed to the advantage of these lands and those belonging to the industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh.
