The Andhra Pradesh high court on Monday reserved its judgment on the bail petition of TDP supreme N Chandrababu Naidu. The court is likely to give its verdict on Tuesday, according to the sources.
The court heard the arguments on both sides on Monday. Senior advocate Dammalapati Srinivas argued for Chandrababu Naidu. Supreme Court senior advocate Siddhartha Luthra also argued for Chandrababu Naidu through virtual system.
Additional advocate general Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy argued for the CID and the state government in the case.
Naidu’s advocates told the court that the health of Naidu is deteriorating, and he requires to undergo some medical tests by his personal doctors. They said that Naidu has to undergo cataract surgery for one eye.
The cataract surgery was conducted to one eye some three months ago and the surgery is to be done for the second eye now.
They also said that Naidu has some ailments, and they are to be tested by the personal doctors. They wanted the court to grant him bail without further delay on health grounds.
Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy told the court that the doctors from the government general hospital in Rajamahendravaram were conducting regular health tests. The jail officials were also releasing health bulletins on the health of Chandrababu Naidu, he told the court.
He further said that teams of doctors were visiting his room in the jail three times a day and conducting tests. He said that there was no need to grant bail as he is healthy and sound. The government doctors were closely monitoring the health of Chandrababu Naidu, the additional advocate general told the court.
On hearing both sides, the court reserved the judgment and closed it.
