The AP CID had received a complaint against Eenadu and Margadarsi group chairman Cherukuri Ramoji Rao. It was alleged that Ramoji Rao had threated Gadireddy Yuri Reddy for asking the shares of his father G J Reddy in Margadarsi.
Yuri Reddy told the CID that he was threatened by Ramoji Rao for asking the shares. He said Ramoji Rao took his signatures on white papers and transferred his father’s shares in the name of Sailaja Kiran.
Based on this complaint, the APCID had registered cases under sections 420, 467, 120B read with 34 were registered against Ramoji Rao. Margadarsi is already under scan by the APCID and they have booked several cases against Ramoji Rao and his daughter-in-law Sailaja Kiran.
In fact the APCID had issued notices to Ramoji Rao and Sailaja Kiran asking them to appear before the investigating officials at its office in Mangalagiri. Such notices were given twice but neither Ramoji Rao nor Sailaja Kiran have turned up.
The CID officials are waiting for an opportunity to lay their hands on Ramoji Rao and Sailaja Kiran in the case.
Surprisingly, Ramoji Rao had filed a quash petition in the AP high court seeking withdrawal of these fresh cases against them. The petition is likely to come up for hearing in the high court on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Yuri Reddy had reached Vijayawada on Tuesday. He is likely to address the media conference, where he is expected to give details of the Margadarsi case.
It was said that Ramoji Rao had started the Margadari in 1970s with the initial money given by Yuri Reddy’s father G J Reddy. Later, G J Reddy was accused in some cases and had left the country.
However, G J Reddy’s son Yuri Reddy approached Ramoji Rao seeking his share of funds in Margadarsi and also the shares.
