The opposition TDP is working hard to win the next round of general elections in 2024. The party top leadership, particularly its chief Chandrababu Naidu is leaving no stone unturned to win the elections.
However, the party leaders in Vijayawada are fighting. They are divided between Chandrababu Naidu’s group and Nara Lokesh group. They are making open criticism against each other and throwing challenges to each other.
Sitting MP Kesineni Nani made hard hitting comments against his rival and former MLC Budda Venkanna, who is also claiming that he would be the Vijayawada MP candidate from the party for the 2024 general election. Kesineni Nani said that he would not support a candidate who does the call money business. The MP further said that those who do the call money business are not BCs.
“I welcome the demand to give Vijayawada MP seat to the BCs. But those who are making huge money through various illegal activities are not BCs. I don’t support such kind of candidates. Those who grab lands, who harass people and who loot people are not BCs,” Kesineni Nani said.
He said that there are several BC leaders who have been working for the party for decades. He said he would support such candidates in the elections if the party gave them ticket. But he said, he would not support the land grabbers, call money lenders, hitting directly at Budda Venkanna, who is allegedly involved in the call money, sex racket.
The statement of Kesineni Nani is aimed at spoiling the chances of Budda Venkanna. It is now to be seen what Budda Venkanna would do. While Kesineni Nani is considered as the man of Chandrababu Naidu, Budda Venkanna is considered the man of Lokesh.
The fight between the two groups is as old as three years, when the municipal corporation elections were held in Vijayawada. The two groups spoiled the winning chances of the other group in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation elections. It is now to be seen what would these two groups do when the general elections come!
