The opposition TDP and its ally, Jana Sena are fighting for the key seats in the undivided Krishna district. The two parties have locked horns over searing of seats in the district, which is now divided into Krishna and NTR districts.
The Jana Sena is asking for Vijayawada East, Vijayawada West, and Mylavaram Assembly segments in NTR district and Avanigadda and Pedana in Krishna district. However, the TDP leaders are not ready to give these seats to the Jana Sena. If the party leadership gives any seat, the TDP leaders are ready to defeat the Jana Sena in the election.
In Vijayawada West Assembly segment, TDP leaders Budha Venkatanna and Jaleel Khan are fighting for the party ticket. They are divided on getting the party ticket for them. However, they are united in defeating the Jana Sena in the segment if the seat is given to the Jana Sena.
Jana Sena leader Pothina Venkata Mahesh is strongly working for the party ticket from here. He had been working there for the past four years. He staked claim for the seat and said that the TDP had been giving the seat to the alliance partners right from the beginning. The trend would continue now, Mahesh said.
In Avanigadda, TDP leader and former Assembly deputy speaker, Mandali Buddha Prasad, is maintaining silence over the party giving Avanigadda seat to the Jana Sena. He had reportedly told the party workers to defeat the Jana Sena if the party gives the seat to the party in alliance.
The situation is no different in Pedana. TDP senior leader Buragadda Vedavyas and Kagita Krishna Prasad are fighting for the party ticket from here. However, if the party gives the seat to the Jana Sena, the two leaders have decided to defeat the party in the elections. The leaders say that they are not ready to vote for the Jana Sena at any cost.
The Jana Sena leaders are asking for Vijayawada East and Mylavaram Assembly seats in alliance in the NTR district. Though sitting MP Kesineni Srinivas is standing for the YSR Congress and is set to be the candidate for the coming elections, the Jana Sena is asking for the two seats in alliance. The TDP is not ready to give even a single seat to the Jana Sena in the NTR district. The party
feels that giving any seat to the Jana Sena in the NTR district would be suicidal for the TDP.
It is to be seen how the TDP and Jana Sena work on the alliance with the infighting like this within the TDP.
