Originals Sidetracked in Bigg Boss 8?

Bigg Boss Season 8, which started off well despite the presence of many unfamiliar faces, has gained momentum with the arrival of wild card entrants. These entrants, mostly entertainers from previous seasons, have been dominating the show since their arrival. However, their overbearing presence is creating an unfavorable situation for the original contestants of the season.

While the original contestants may have lacked in entertainment initially, they impressed in areas like drama and tasks. But since the arrival of the wild card entrants, the ex-contestants have overshadowed them. Unlike previous seasons, where wild card entrants never dominated the game to this extent, this season feels different. Moreover, the treatment of the original contestants appears unfair, as the wild card entrants—primarily known for their comedic streak—have shifted the tone of the show. Having one or two such entrants might have been fine, but bringing in many has disrupted the essence of the competition, making the show feel more like a comedy program, except on Mondays.

The original contestants, who were performing well earlier, now seem to be pushed into the shadows, possibly due to the show’s narrative favoring the wild cards. Even in the Dussehra episode, there seemed to be a bias toward the wild card entrants, with tasks appearing to favor them over the original contestants. Though these games may have been intended for humor, they have demotivated the original players, which feels unfair given their impressive gameplay so far.
