The Supreme Court on Tuesday posted TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s case to December 8. However, it also upheld the bail granted to Naidu by the Andhra Pradesh high court.
The state government had challenged the high court’s decision granting bail to Chandrababu Naidu from November 29. The state government said that the bail was against several judgments of the supreme court in the past.
However, the supreme court posted the case to December 8. It asked Chandrababu Naidu not to make any reference to the skill development case during his meetings. The court allowed him to participate in the political party meetings or rallies and address public meetings.
The CID requested the supreme court to prevent him from addressing public meetings and participate in the political activities. The CID said that he would make any reference to the cases pending against him during the public meetings and try to influence the witnesses.
However, the supreme court allowed him to participate in the public meetings. But the court cautioned him not to speak anything about the skill development case.
It is alleged that Chandrababu Naidu took Rs 371 crore from the state government in the name of skill development programme and diverted the money to the TDP account through various shell companies.
The money from the state exchequer was paid to the TDP before the 2019 general election, the CID alleged.
