TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh gave a break to his Yuva Galam padayatra in Kakinada district on Monday. As the weather is not cooperating due to the impending cyclone, Lokesh announced the break to his yatra in the morning.
Lokesh said that the padayatra would be resumed at Silamvaripakala village on December 7. This was his second break to the yatra. He gave first break on September 9 when his father and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested at Nandyal in the skill development scam.
Lokesh, after giving the break to his padayatra spent most of the time in Delhi meeting with the advocates arguing for his father. He held several rounds of meetings with the Supreme Court advocates in his father’s case.
Even after Chandrababu Naidu was released on interim bail, Lokesh did not resume his padayatra. He took time to come back to the West Godavari district, where he left the padayatra after the arrest of his father.
Now, even after resuming it, Lokesh plans to end his yatra in Visakhapatnam and not in Srikakulam as originally planned. Lokesh seems to have lost interest in continuing his padayatra as general elections to the State Assembly are fast approaching.
Lokesh wants to get involved in the process of selection of party candidates, which his father would be doing. He is also interested in holding consultations with the Jana Sena for alliance. Lokesh had already attended two coordination meetings with the Jana Sena when his father was in jail.
Now, he wants to continue being part of the talks and not being there on the roads walking. However, it is not known what his father would suggest him if he wants to end his padayatra at Visakhapatnam.
