Kapus are angry with Pawan over alliance with TDP

The Kapu community in Andhra Pradesh is angry with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan over the party’s alliance with the opposition TDP. They are upset with the TDP’s offer of 20 to 25 Assembly seats to the Jana Sena in alliance.

The TDP is said to be offering only 20 to 25 Assembly seats to the Jana Sena in alliance. The TDP is also offering one or two Lok Sabha seats to the Jana Sena. However, the Jana Sena leaders are asking for more.

Sources say that the Kapu leaders have sent a communique to Jana Sena chief asking him to demand at least 50 Assembly seats from the TDP in alliance. This would be a considerable number for the party to seek votes and later to demand a greater share in power if the alliance wins the elections.

Some Kapu officials and business persons have met in Hyderabad recently and have asked Pawan Kalyan not to compromise with the TDP for just 20 seats. They wanted him to demand more seats, at least 50 so as to play key role in the government if the alliance wins the election.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is planning to stay in Kakinada for three days from December 28 and hold consultations with the party leaders. He would be explaining to them the reasons that made him go for alliance with the TDP. He is also likely to give them the reasons that are forcing him to compromise with the TDP.

However, it is not known whether the Kapu leaders would accept his explanation or not. The Kapu leaders are angry and are upset with the way Pawan Kalyan is leading the party. They feel that Pawan Kalyan had made the Jana Sena depend on the TDP like the Left parties in the past.

They want the Jana Sena to be a force in the State politics and not to fall on the feet of the TDP. They say that Kapus are dominant and can play a key role in state politics wherever they are. So they also want Pawan Kalyan to play a key role in the alliance with the TDP and not to succumb to its pressure tactics.
