Jagan lays stone for National Law Varsity

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid foundation stone for the Rs.1011crore National Law University here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister unveiled the pylon and launched the works of the University being built in an extent of 150 acres in Kalluru Mandalam.

Launching the works, he recalled the Government’s promise of establishing High Court at Kurnool and said that along with High Court, SHRC (State Human Rights Commission) and Lok Ayukta also would be set up here as per its commitment to decentralised development.

He further said that AP Legal Metrological Commission, Labour Commission, VAT Appellate Commission, Wakf Board and other institutions dealing with legal matters would also be set up here and they would help the region achieve justice.

Pointing out that it was proposed to set up High Court here as per the Sribagh Pact at the time of shifting capital to Hyderabad and steps are being taken in accordance with the Pact.

CM attends last rites of MLC’s mother

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the house of YSRCP MLC Sivarami Reddy here on Thursday and paid last respects to the mortal remains of his mother Yellareddy Lalithamma who passed away of prolonged illness and old age.

The Chief Minister laid a wreath on Lalithamma’s body and spent some time with the family members.

Lalithamma is the mother of Rampuram Reddy brothers Sivarami Reddy, YSRCP MLAs Sai Prasada Reddy (Adoni), Bala Nagi Reddy (Mantralyam), Venkatrami Reddy (Guntakal) and TTD Board Member Sitharami Reddy.
