Is BJP distancing Pawan from Naidu?

It looks like the BJP top leadership in Delhi had planned to distance Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan from TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu ahead of the 2024 general elections to the state Assembly. The BJP leaders want the TDP to go alone, while Jana Sena will go with the BJP in the elections.

Sources say that the BJP leaders have sent a communication to Pawan Kalyan about severing his ties with the TDP. They have also reportedly quoted a money transaction in the name of Pawan Kalyan’s wife. It was said that about RS 500 crore were transferred to Pawan Kalyan’s wife recently and it was black money.

The BJP leaders have reportedly asked Pawan Kalyan to show the source of income for those Rs 500 crore. Unable to show any evidence, Pawan Kalyan had reportedly become silent and is planning to distance himself from the TDP.

His recent remarks against the TDP leaders are one of the indications that he is moving away from the TDP. He declared two Assembly seats for the Jana Sena and said that it was done as the TDP had declared two seats. The TDP had declared Araku and Mandapet to be contested by the TDP candidates. In turn, Pawan Kalyan declared that Razole and Rajanagaram would be contested by the Jana Sena.

He also made some remarks against TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh for his remarks on the chief minister post. Pawan said that Lokesh was wrong in declaring that Chandrababu Naidu would be the chief minister of the state when the two parties are in alliance. He said it was wrong on the part of Lokesh to make such a statement when two parties are in alliance.

Pawan Kalyan’s brother Nagababu also posted on social media taking strong exception to the TDP general secretary’s statements on the chief minister post. He also raised objections over the TDP declaring two Assembly seats. He said that they had to do tit for tat by declaring two Assembly seats by the Jana Sena.

It is to be seen whether the TDP and Jana Sena go together in the elections, or the Jana Sena would go with the BJP leaving the TDP alone or to go with the Left parties. It is certain that all is not well between the TDP and the Jana Sena. The two parties have not completed their talks over seat sharing. They have not finalized the list of seats to be contested by both the parties. They have only held talks twice on common manifesto and not any other issue.
